Apr 06

Phlearn has teamed up with our friend Tommy Danger to bring you a 2 part series on taking action photos. In this episode we will be covering using speedlights in low light setting to freeze movement.

For those of you curious about the exposure, we are at 1/160 sec, f/5.6, ISO 320. The flash in the foreground is a Nikon SB26 shooting through a white umbrella @1/4 power, and the light in the background is a Canon 580EXii @1/4 power, zoomed in to 80mm – it is metering at f/8 for this shot. Both speedlights were fired via pocketwizards.
