1970 Vintage Action

I just bought the Vintage action and used it on the sample image. I clicked on the 1970 Vintage and pressed the play button. The first time the image came out green, the second time I tried it, the image was covered completely by a grey opaque layer. I don’t think I’m using it right and I’m not very familiar with using Actions. I was wondering if you could please include instructions on how to use it. Thank you :)

  • Emmo2

I also just purchased this action and I have to agree with Rkoscica, instructions would be helpful.

  • http://phlearn.com Aaron Nace

I will make instructions, thanks for letting me know.

  • http://phlearn.com Aaron Nace

I just sent you a video explaining how to use the action, thanks!

  • Sammie Saxon

    Amazing as always.

  • Forest Eyes

Just purchased!  Aaron, working on the basis that I am a bit of an idiot, could you please send me the instructions too? Cheers!

  • http://phlearn.com Aaron Nace

There should be a video included, did you get it?

  • Rkoscica

Thanks Aaron, I sent you an email.

More People generally dont like being wrong, even worse we dont like admitting we were wrong.

I had been watching Phlearn for about a month or so before I bought my first Pro Tutorial. I had learned and grown so much just from the free daily shows I felt like I was getting way to much for free so I decided i wanted to support Aaron by buying a tutorial. So i picked one that looked interesting, thinking that for the price i would maybe learn a few extra tricks that didn't happen to make it in the daily show (or had been done in the archives). I was wrong. Very wrong and I will happily admit it!

I still use what i learned in that first tutorial in a large portion of my images along with all the other tips and techniques I've learned in all the other tutorials I've purchased since. In fact, there isn't an image I've made recently that hasn't had a touch or more of Phlearn influence and i couldn't be more grateful. Phlearn continues to help me get my images to where I want them to be, and also shows me where I've never thought of taking them.

I really can't express how valuable these Pro Tutorials are, at any price!

More Phlearn is one of those exceptionally rare places where you can learn from someone (Aaron Nace) who is so good at what he does that he doesn't need to be teaching. But Aaron teaches because he loves to and he's a darn good teacher to boot.

The "PRO" tutorials on Phlearn over-deliver every time, sometimes reaching over 3 hours of pure content. These tutorials are vastly superior to anything available on any of the subscription learning sites or in any college.

The latest "PRO" tutorials have gotten scary good. It should be pointed out that only a hand full of people in the world can produce the level of work that Aaron does now. Naming these tutorials "PRO" is appropriate as he's a consummate pro at composite work rivaling photographers like Gary Land or Dave Hill.

Professionals like these aren't teaching their craft at any price. Yet through the Phlearn episodes, Aaron takes you by the hand and and gives you an education you can't get anywhere else (believe me I've looked).

More A few weeks ago, Jeremy Cowart tweeted about how great of a Photoshop teacher Aaron Nace is. So I checked out a few free videos on Aaron’s Phlearn site, and I was immediately hooked. I bought a Pro Tutorial and I swear I learned more about Photoshop in 3 hours than I have in the past 3 years.

Aaron is a highly skilled photographer and Photoshopper, a great teacher, and has a wonderful, quirky sense of humor. Absorbing all the information that Mr. Nace is laying down would normally make my brain hurt, but thanks to his goofy jokes and casual approach to teaching, there is no headache involved.

What's most striking is the great bang for the buck. Quality equals those charging 5x for similar content...

More Phlearn takes you step by step on each video going back of items so that you dont have to keep looking in a book. A friend first told me about Phlearn and he and I have told anyone we know about them at the time I was in a class on photography the instructor told all of us point blank that while we had to learn how to edit our own photos it that part of the class would be self study because she did not know how to use photoshop.

Using Phlearn I revamped their ideas with my own photos. I passed the class with an A. After the class I was asked by the instructor if I wanted to teach a photoshop class....My answer was Phlearn.com. I am told the photoshop part of the class has gotten a lot better then it was in my day all thanks to Phlearn.

More The first thing i do when i get home from work is to visit the Phlearn website for news. At first i went through all the free episodes but i ran out of news really fast. I took a step further and bought a Phlearn PRO and I think that they are the best tutorial videos I have seen. And I watch a lot of videos.

Aaron is a great teacher with the biggest enthusiasm. Sometimes I think it is his personality that inspires me more than photoshop itself. Exactly the way a teacher is supposed to work.

Thank you Phlearn for your existence. /Emil from Sweden

More I've been a photographer for a long time and have been using Photoshop since its first incarnation. I thought I pretty much had it covered. Turns out, not so much. I'm pretty new to the site but I have learned so much from watching Aaron's free videos that it was a simple decision to purchase the PRO tutorials and I'm so glad I did. The quality of the production and level of content is awesome; in depth but clearly explained.

Aaron has such an easy, natural way of presenting information that you can't help but feel you're being personally tutored by someone who really knows and loves his craft.

Save your money on books, stop looking at 10 minute blurry Youtube clips and spend some time with PRO. You'll learn more from one PRO tutorial than you will from most books out there combined. Where can you possibly get between 2-3 hours of professional tutoring per video that you can refer to over and over again for under $25 (even cheaper when he has a sale)? 'Nuff said.

More I can't tell everyone how helpful Phlearn has been to me as a photographer. Its like an addiction to a substance that helps you get further in life rather than holding you down or burdening you with expenses. Phlearn serves inspiration in a large daily dose of awesomeness; pure fun and light hearted honesty in every free episode made my the team.

The Phlearn Pros, of which I own 15+ of are the most helpful resource of photography tutorials that teach the things that I want to learn; I have never came across anything on the internet like it, and I even own a Lynda account.

I would recommend Phlearn to every skill level of photoshop user, from causal beginner to advanced photoshop masters. I would like to thank Aaron Nace for his enormous contribution to the photography/photoshop world and would consider him one of my greatest inspirations in this field. That being said, I will continue to support the community and Phlearn as a whole as long as I can even past a high level of photoshop proficiency.
