Canon 580 EX II Speedlight

Name: Canon 580 EX II Speedlight

For Canon we use this flash. They are really cool when you need more light in your shot. We usually use it pointing up at the ceiling on a wall etc so that we can bounce the light back onto the subject instead of having a straight on flash on the subject which doesn’t look very nice.

Description

Further development of Canon’s flagship Speedlite has led to the production of the 580 EX II. This is the premier Speedlite for all photographers, including professionals. Newly designed to match with the EOS-1D Mark III in terms of improved dust- and water-resistance, body strength, and the ability to control flash functions and settings from the camera menu (EOS-1D Mark III only). Other features include improved communication reliability through its direct contacts, and recycling time is both 20% shorter than the 580EX and is completely inaudible.

Random Tips

Having trouble cloning out fly away hairs on a complicated background? Duplicate your layer. On the bottom layer, use the liquify tool to shrink the head, which extends the background into the head (make sure to try and keep the background looking good and not warped around to much) . Now on top layer, use a mask to reveal the extended background, hiding the fly away hair.
