Making Tears – Episode #69 Wednesday

Today we are answering a question from Alex on how to create tears. This was a really cool challenge, because we have never done it before. To create tears on someone, first we found a reference photo of someone who had real tears. Having a reference photo is really important, as it gives you a guide on what you want your effect to look like, and you don’t have to remember from scratch. We also have an image of a person looking sad. To create the tears we are using the brush tool and painting in a solid color over where we want the tears to show up. Then we lower the fill opacity of the layer, and add some layer effects including a drop shadow, bevel and emboss, and inner glow. To finish off the tears, we paint white over the bottom of their eyes.
