Photographing Fireworks! – Episode #81

Welcome to the 4th of July! We are celebrating with some fireworks. To photograph fireworks, there are a couple of tricks. First we lock our focus to infinity, so we don’t have any focus issues in the dark. From there we want to make sure everything is in frame, to do this a wide angle lens is going to be your best choice. You also want to keep the camera still, so a tripod is great, or even holding it against an object will work. Lastly, we use bulb mode to photograph the fireworks. Basically you can press the button as the firework is going through the air, and let it go after it goes off. You have just photographed the most beautiful thing ever.
