Make a Realistic Reflection
Adding a good reflection to a composite is an important step, and not an easy one. Most people will just take a copy of an object and flip it upside-down and call it done. Reflections can be quite complex in how they interact with the ground.
In this tutorial, we cover in detail how to make sure your reflections show up exactly like they should.
Make Amazing Selections
For this image, we have to put the panda behind this cup to make it look like he is drinking from it. To do this we have to make a great selection of the cup, and cut it out of the panda. Too sharp or too blurry will not look right.
We go over some great setting for making sure your selections are always perfect.
Create Hair From Scratch
It is almost impossible to make a perfect selection of hair, and use that to cut out an object. My method is to not even try.
You will learn how to make a VERY EASY selection to cut out this panda, and then simply paint the hair back. We cover in detail how to make custom brushes to make this very easy for you.

Color Matching
The original photo of the panda was not taken in a living room. Everything reflects the colors that surround it, and animals are no exception.
Learning how to match the colors of your environment will make your composites look much more real. It is not as hard as it sounds.
Clean Backgrounds Are Important
This image would be completely different if the background wall was a mess. The original photo had a heating vent, power outlets, and an ottoman in it.

First time I purchased a pro tutorial I was skeptical because I don't normally buy anything off the internet. I had no idea what I was getting exactly, and frankly wasn't sure if it would even be worth it since theres tons of videos on youtube.

To start, Phlearn is amazing! I have searched the web over and over trying to find good photoshop tutorials that actually went into depth on the tools and techniques for creating the type of photos I see in my head. About six months ago I found Phlearn and am so glad I did. I'm only on my 3rd Pro Tutorial, but have already learned more than I could have imagined in that short time.
Aaron Nace is such a good, fun teacher and really breaks down every step and tool used to create his photos. Several years ago, when I first got into photography I looked online for tips, tutorials and so on, but there was very little good information out there. Then I took Aaron's class that he used to teach and I started watching Phlearn when it came out and my skills dramatically improved in the whole understanding of photography, along with my photoshop abilities.
I have been using photoshop for 8 years now and ever since I took Aaron's class and watched some of the Pro tutorials, I have become significantly more fluent in photoshop. It's funny because when I feel I understand how most conceptual images are put together and edited, Aaron comes out with a new technique that changes my whole perspective.

I went to university for photography, and while I loved it there and learned a lot, what I learned in the photoshop end came no where close to what Aaron's tutorials have taught me.
I have purchased more than half of the tutorials and have more often than not, came out with a whole bunch of new tips and techniques that I wasn't aware of or familiar with. I find myself saying out loud "holy crap that's so awesome" or "oh my god I wish I knew about Phlearn years ago" and other things of the like many times throughout the videos.
Aaron makes the tutorials even more entertaining by being silly and fun! I've had numerous laugh out loud moments. I highly recommend purchasing any and all of the tutorials!

Hi, my name is Jandrie, and I am a phlearnoholic. I have downloaded a total of 30 Phlearn pro's, and every single one of them has been great. They go into detail, from start to finish. They don't only show the cool things, but also take you through the less exciting bits of making a great image. I have learned to take my time, and think about the image, does the image make sense.
The Pro Tutorials also showed me what was possible in photoshop, which is very handy when doing a shoot, so you know what you can fix afterwards. It also shows a great attention to detail. Even if you feel comfortable with your photoshop skills, the Pro tutorials will always show you new stuff and things u would have never come up with yourself. Phlearn Pro tutorials have advanced my photography by leaps and bounds. Phlearn gets straight to the point, and teaches you in a way that is easy to follow along. A few weeks ago, Jeremy Cowart tweeted about how great of a Photoshop teacher Aaron Nace is. So I checked out a few free videos on Aaron’s Phlearn site, and I was immediately hooked. I bought a Pro Tutorial and I swear I learned more about Photoshop in 3 hours than I have in the past 3 years.
Aaron is a highly skilled photographer and Photoshopper, a great teacher, and has a wonderful, quirky sense of humor. Absorbing all the information that Mr. Nace is laying down would normally make my brain hurt, but thanks to his goofy jokes and casual approach to teaching, there is no headache involved.
