Replacing a background pt.3 – Episode #59

In this super long installment of Phlearn, we are going over photoshopping a person onto a different background. This can be as easy or hard as you want it to be. To make things easier on ourselves we photographed Kat on a white background. Cutting her out is as simple as using a magic wand tool to select the background out, then refining the edge of the selection. From there we use color balance, gradient maps and levels to get the colors right. This usually takes quite a while to get things perfect, I feel like we got it to about 90% today. 100 might have taken another 10 boring minutes of using the same adjustment layers.
