Yaay, you guys took my suggestion to put links to your gear! Love it :)

  • Trickman10s3

What was the name of the tablet you use for editing? I couldn’t find it in your link list, or rather I didn’t recognize it in your list of links. Great episode by the way.

Avery looks like tennis player Ana Ivanovic ;)

the lens info is really helpful, looking forward to more posts on those — also basic DSLR instruction for going off-auto!

awesome episode cant wait for the next part .. i have a question if we plugged the camera to the computer do we need a software for that and do we need to have a memory cart in the camera at the same time ?!? :)

Me So Envyyyyyyyyy……Me So Likey Big Shiny Umbrella at the Back…..HUHUHU!

So I bought a smaller gorilla pod last year and its fantastic for when I go on hikes by myself. I’ve wrapped it around trees, plants, nails, steering wheels!!! I LOVE IT. I even stuck it into a rock wall once and did the 10 second self timer so I could get a pic of me climbing!!! Great episode A team. Definitely got my Phlearn on.

Lightroom and Aperture will both work if you plug the camera into the computer

  • Anonymous

we love it too!! definitely worth saving up for that!

  • Anonymous

did you buy the pink one? ;) lol, we saw some of the smaller ones at B&H in NYC while we were there. sooo helpful!

you guys should make a section where we can chat and get critiques from you guys, and others! like a mini forum!

    Love the idea Caleb!

Okay, I really wanted you ask you guys this for a while now but didn’t actually get a chance, and you just reminded of it. So here’s it, how about doing an episode of how to shoot tethered, connecting camera to a Mac, wired and/or wirelessly. Also there was an idea I had in my mind, how about Aaron zipping his lips and Avery doing a few episodes on Modeling tips or anything related to Modeling. You guys are really multi-talented and together make up a perfect couple! :D

  • Novak

When you shoot outdoors you’re using hoodman loupe.. so you shoot using live view? or just for preview?

  • Dan

Hey Aaron! The Intuos 4 tablet…do you use the small one or do you recommend a larger one? Also, I tried one out and couldn’t get past the difference between looking at my hand when I draw whereas when you use the tablet you’re looking at the screen. How long does it take to break this barrier?

Hey Dan, check out Episode #5, I think about one month in, it will become second nature :)

Been looking for a small, compact tripod (smaller than a light stand) to mount a strobe on– Gorilla pod looks great, thanks for the tip.

I hate that Hoodman’s are so necessary but cost $80- highway robbery.

I always plug my camera directly into the computer… I figured it was all USB, couldn’t be any different. Guess I need a card reader :)

You must own a 28-70 f/2.8, did he get left out?

  • Shuey6

So wait, if i get a Gorillapod, I need a connecting piece/ball head as well? I have a Canon 60D.

  • Anonymous

you don’t NEED one, but i really suggest having one, but having a ball head will allow you a lot more movement

  • Raheslop

Really liked the shoot through umbrella, I’ve never seen one like that before and was wandering who makes them.

    Aaaah gear!!!! *jealous*
I need more flashes… only have the Nikon SB 900 which is awesome but … well, I only have the one ;)
    Interesting episode!

What would you say about the canon 60D, it’s not a full frame but for a beginner like me I think it’s enough.
The biggest disadvantage with a 5D (if there is one) it’s the price of the body and lenses ( not all lenses are compatible or are they?)
