A full-featured mobile Photoshop is here with Adobe’s release of Photoshop for the iPad! Join Aaron as he walks you through what the new iPad version can do as he creates a double exposure image.
Adobe just released Photoshop for the iPad and we’re here to give you a first look at what it can do! The first thing to note is that this is not some watered-down version of the Photoshop we know and love. While it still has a lot of features in development (Adobe has noted that features like Rotate Canvas, Refine Edge, Select Subject, and more advanced brushes are all coming soon), it feels a lot like the Photoshop we’re used to. As of today, Photoshop for the iPad offers:
PSD Compatibility
Cloud-based Storage and Workflow
A Layers Panel
Selection Tools
Professional Compositing and Retouching Tools
Looks like they’re off to a great start! From day one we can open, edit, and save full-sized PSD files, tackling our normal editing workflow from anywhere. And losing our desktop workstations doesn’t mean sacrificing performance. Photoshop for the iPad was built from the ground up, optimized to take advantage of Apples mobile hardware and operating system.
While it’s still in its early stages, Photoshop for the iPad is a promising look at the future of mobile editing for creative professionals.
Compatibility
Photoshop for the iPad is compatible with the following devices:
iPad Pro (Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi and Cellular)
iPad Pro (12.9-inch) and 2nd generation
iPad Pro (10.5-inch)

And of course Photoshop for the iPad is compatible with the Apple Pencil (both the 1st and 2nd generation). So if you’re used to using a Wacom Tablet, you won’t be left out with the new mobile version. Adobe has promised more Apple Pencil-related features are coming soon as well!
