DESCRIPTION

Add warm, shimmering copper colors to your photos and videos with our Copper Vibes Color Grading LUTs!

All five give the midtones a copper-red cast, add a little color to skin and shift greens toward yellow: Lucky Penny and New Tawny make yellows much richer, Matte Umber lifts the blacks for a strong matte look, and Sweet Caramel darkens the whole image. After you apply one, lower the layer opacity in Photoshop or the LUT intensity in your video app if the look is too strong.

One zip holds the 5 LUTs as .CUBE files for Photoshop’s Color Lookup, the same 5 in .3DL, .CSP, .CUBE and .ICC for video and other apps, plus 4 sample images to practice on and the PDF install guide.

Copper Vibes LUTs · 5 Looks

Warm Copper and Caramel Vintage Tones

Five LUTs that push skin and clothing toward copper, rust and caramel, from rich and punchy to soft and matte. For photos and video in Premiere, Final Cut, DaVinci Resolve and Photoshop.

Included – PHLEARN New TawnyOriginal

New Tawny

New Tawny deepens warm colors and darkens the midtones. His camel coat turns a richer cognac brown, his jeans go darker, and the white sweater and brick wall stay pale and clean. Contrast eases off a little.

Lifted Blacks, Darker Mids

The darkest tones lift from 3 to 10 percent while middle gray drops from 50 to 43, which gives a soft matte base with more weight in the middle. The shadows and midtones pick up a slight warm cast, while the highlights stay neutral.

Oranges and Yellows Get Richer

Oranges gain about a quarter more saturation and lean slightly toward red, and yellows gain nearly a fifth. Blues and purples lose some color, so browns and tans carry the photo while cool tones fade back. Light skin turns noticeably richer and a little darker.

Best on: indoor portraits, warm brown and camel clothing, and cozy scenes by a window or a brick wall.

Included – PHLEARN Millennium CedarOriginal

Millennium Cedar

Millennium Cedar adds contrast and richer color to a cold scene. The burgundy sweater and plaid blanket get deeper, and the snowy trees behind the couple pick up a faint, creamy warmth. It is the only look in the pack that adds contrast.

Deeper Blacks, Warm Midtones

Blacks go to pure black and the dark grays come down, with middle gray dropping from 50 to 44 percent, while light grays and whites hold or brighten slightly. A red tint sits in the midtones, which warms snow and skin without turning them orange.

Reds and Oranges Lead

Reds and oranges gain more than a third more saturation, blues about a fifth, and greens and aquas barely change, so rust, wine and brown clothing come forward. Deep skin gains the most color.

Best on: couples outdoors in winter, snowy or overcast scenes that feel too cold, and clothing in red, rust and brown.

Included – PHLEARN Matte UmberOriginal

Matte Umber

Matte Umber gives the photo a soft, faded vintage finish. The camel blazer and brown hat turn a warmer tan, the dark window frame behind him lifts to a brown haze and the white shirt stays clean. It has the strongest fade in the pack.

A Strong Matte Fade

The darkest tones lift from 3 to 21 percent with a slight red tint, so nothing in the frame reaches true black. Midtones come down a little, which keeps the overall contrast low and gentle. A slight warmth runs through every tone.

Cool Tones Step Back

Blues lose some color and shift toward purple, and purples and aquas lose about a tenth, while yellows, oranges and reds keep their saturation, so earth tones lead the frame. Light skin turns richer and a touch darker.

Best on: moody indoor portraits, earthy wardrobes, and any photo or clip you want to feel older and softer.

Included – PHLEARN Lucky PennyOriginal

Lucky Penny

Lucky Penny darkens the frame and adds a coppery warmth. Her hair turns a deeper auburn, the shopping bags read richer, and the gray marble wall behind the couple takes on a warm tint. Contrast stays almost exactly where it was.

Darker Midtones With a Red Tint

Middle gray drops from 50 to 42 percent and picks up a red cast, while the blacks lift slightly to 4 percent and whites ease off a touch to 98. The result is dense and warm rather than bright.

Strong Color in Warm Tones

Oranges and reds gain about 30 percent saturation, yellows and blues gain a little, and greens and aquas hardly change. Oranges and yellows lean toward red. Skin looks more tanned while the dark coats and jeans stay solid.

Best on: street and city photos, couples and friends out shopping, and scenes with lots of gray stone or concrete.

Included – PHLEARN Sweet CaramelOriginal

Sweet Caramel

Sweet Caramel tones the colors down and darkens the whole frame. The bright blue sky turns a dustier, grayer blue, the rust sweater settles into a muted caramel and the rocks go a deeper brown. It is the darkest look in the pack and mutes color the most.

Highlights Pulled Down

Whites drop to 93 percent and middle gray from 50 to 40, with a faint warm tint in the shadows, midtones and highlights. Bright skies lose their glare and nothing reaches pure white. Blacks stay deep at about 5 percent.

Every Color Muted

All colors lose saturation and get darker, blues by more than 40 percent, purples by about a third and aquas by about a quarter, while reds and oranges lose the least. Skin comes out a little darker and softer for a calm, film-like feel.

Best on: outdoor fashion portraits, knitwear and autumn clothing, and sunny photos where the colors feel too loud.

LUT Questions, Answered

What’s included in the Copper Vibes LUTs?

The Copper Vibes LUTs include 5 LUTs: New Tawny, Millennium Cedar, Sweet Caramel, Matte Umber and Lucky Penny. Each LUT comes as .CUBE, .3DL, .CSP and .ICC files, so it works in Photoshop, Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro and most other editors.

What kind of look do the Copper Vibes LUTs give?

They add warm, shimmering copper colors to photos and videos. With warm tones and soft contrast, the looks give your images a cozy, vintage feel in just a few clicks, so they suit any shot where you want warmth and a gentle, old-fashioned mood rather than crisp, cool color.

Which Copper Vibes looks are shown on this page?

All five are shown in the before-and-after examples: Matte Umber, which is the featured look, plus Lucky Penny, Millennium Cedar, New Tawny and Sweet Caramel. Slide each example to compare the original with the graded version and see how warm each look runs.

Are LUTs included in my PHLEARN PRO subscription?

Which programs do the LUTs work in?

Photoshop, Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro, After Effects, Lightroom Classic and most other photo and video editors. Use the .CUBE file unless your software asks for .3DL, .CSP or .ICC.

How do I use a LUT in Photoshop?

Choose Layer > New Adjustment Layer > Color Lookup, open the 3DLUT File menu in the Properties panel, choose Load 3D LUT and pick a .CUBE file from the Photoshop Quick Install folder. Set the strength with the layer’s Opacity.

How do I install LUTs in Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve or Final Cut Pro?

The PDF install guide in your download has a page for each one, and every step for every program is on our How to Install LUTs page.

The LUT looks too strong. What do I do?

Turn it down: lower the layer Opacity in Photoshop, the Intensity slider in Premiere Pro or the Mix slider in Final Cut Pro. In DaVinci Resolve, reduce Key Output Gain for that node.

Should I correct my photo before adding a LUT?

Yes. Set exposure and white balance first, then add the LUT on top. A LUT grades color; it does not correct it.

My LUTs don’t show up in DaVinci Resolve.

Skipping Update Lists is the usual reason. Open Project Settings > Color Management, click Update Lists, then Save.

Do you offer refunds?

Because these are downloadable products, all sales are final and we are not able to offer refunds.
