DESCRIPTION

Instantly add rich, warm tones to your photos and videos with our Warm Tone LUTs! Designed to lift shadows, soften contrast, and add creamy reds and oranges into your scenes, these LUTs are perfect for outdoor images and helping skin tones look their absolute best.

All five keep true blacks, warm the midtones, shift greens toward yellow and mute blues a little: Mindful Buff also gives the whites a cream tint, Soft Creamy is the brightest with the warmest shadows, and Softest Ivory is the gentlest of the set. After you apply one, lower the layer opacity in Photoshop or the LUT intensity in your video app if the look is too strong.

One zip holds the 5 LUTs as .CUBE files for Photoshop’s Color Lookup, the same 5 in .3DL, .CSP, .CUBE and .ICC for video and other apps, plus 4 sample images to practice on and the PDF install guide.

Warm Tone LUTs · 5 Looks

Soft Reds and Oranges for Warm Skin

Five LUTs that add a warm orange or red cast to the midtones and give skin a healthy glow. They work on photos and video in Premiere, Final Cut, DaVinci Resolve and Photoshop.

Included – PHLEARN Soft CreamyOriginal

Soft Creamy

Soft Creamy adds a light peach warmth to skin and softens the contrast across the frame. The bright water and sky stay airy, and the floral top and denim keep their colors. It is the softest look in the pack.

Lifted Shadows, Warm Mids

Middle gray rises from 50% to 58% and the shadows lift, with an orange tint in the darker tones and a red tint in the middle. Black stays at pure black while the deep shadows open up, so the image doesn’t look washed out, and whites stay neutral.

Warm Colors Hold

Reds, oranges and yellows keep their saturation as they brighten, while blues and aquas lose about a sixth and purples about a tenth. Light skin comes out lighter and peachier, deep skin lightens and gains a little color, and greens lean a little toward yellow.

Best on: sunny days with friends, waterfront and summer scenes, and bright, high-key photos.

Included – PHLEARN Pale AbaloneOriginal

Pale Abalone

Pale Abalone turns the bright cyan sky a softer, paler blue and warms the skin and the concrete ledge. The two friends feel sunlit against a calm background, and their denim keeps its blue. Overall brightness stays where it was, with middle gray at about 49%.

Cyans and Blues Softened

Aquas and blues lose about 15% of their saturation, and aquas lean slightly toward green. That takes the punch out of a clear sky without changing its brightness much. Warm tones gain a little color, oranges most, and both light and deep skin gain about a fifth.

Orange Through the Middle

Shadows, midtones and upper tones pick up an orange cast, heaviest in the middle gray. Black and white stay neutral, so contrast holds. Greens shift toward yellow, yellows lean slightly toward orange, purples toward magenta and magentas toward pink.

Best on: portraits against open sky, rooftops and walls, and minimal outdoor compositions.

Included – PHLEARN Rich CorkOriginal

Rich Cork

Rich Cork, the pack’s featured look, warms the gray wall to a cocoa brown and adds red and orange to skin and hair. The knit sweater and hat turn a warmer cream. Brightness and contrast stay almost exactly where they were, so the change is all in color.

Cocoa Through the Midtones

An orange cast runs from the shadows to the upper midtones, strongest in the middle grays, which is what turns a gray backdrop brown. Black and white stay neutral, so the image keeps its depth.

Warm Colors Turned Up

Reds, oranges and yellows gain about a tenth more saturation, oranges most, and blues lose a little. It adds the most color in the pack. Deep skin and brown hair come out richer, and light skin gains color too. Greens shift slightly toward yellow, and purples and magentas lean a little pinker.

Best on: couple portraits, knitwear and earth tones, and indoor shots with a plain background.

Included – PHLEARN Mindful BuffOriginal

Mindful Buff

Mindful Buff turns the cool, blurred street behind him into a warm, creamy haze. His skin and hands get warmer, and the hat and camera keep their detail. It is the only look in the pack with a strong warm cast in the highlights.

Warm Highlights, Neutral Blacks

A red cast fills the midtones and turns orange and then yellow toward the highlights, while the shadows stay neutral. Brightness barely changes, with middle gray staying at 50% and white easing to 99%, so contrast stays where it was.

Blues Pulled Back

Blues lose about 18% of their saturation and aquas about 9%, so cool backgrounds fade into the warm cast. Purples and magentas lean pinker, and reds, oranges and yellows gain a little saturation, which warms the skin on his hands. Light and deep skin gain about a fifth more color.

Best on: street portraits, travel and lifestyle shots, and scenes with cool, busy backgrounds.

Included – PHLEARN Softest IvoryOriginal

Softest Ivory

Softest Ivory brightens the couple and warms skin a touch, while the red hair, denim jacket and gray hoodie stay true to life. The concrete wall stays a clean gray. It lifts the upper midtones more than any other look in the pack.

Brighter Mids, No Heavy Cast

Middle gray rises from 50% to 58% and the upper midtones lift too, from 75% to 82%, with just a faint orange tint there. Black stays black, so the image doesn’t fade, and contrast rises very slightly.

A Light Touch on Color

Yellows and oranges keep nearly all their saturation, greens and reds lose a little, and blues lose about a sixth. Every color gets a little lighter. Light skin comes out brighter and a little warmer, and deep skin warms slightly too while keeping its color.

Best on: couple portraits on overcast days, cool urban settings, and photos that need warmth without a visible tint.

LUT Questions, Answered

What’s included in the Warm Tone LUTs?

The pack has 5 LUTs: Pale Abalone, Softest Ivory, Rich Cork, Soft Creamy and Mindful Buff. Each LUT comes as .CUBE, .3DL, .CSP and .ICC files, so it works in Photoshop, Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro and most other editors.

What kind of photos are the Warm Tone LUTs made for?

Outdoor photos and videos where you want a sense of warmth and comfort. The LUTs lift shadows, soften contrast and add creamy reds and oranges to your scenes, giving them a warm, inviting feel. Rich Cork is the featured look on this page.

Are the Warm Tone LUTs good for skin tones?

They are made with skin in mind. The soft reds and oranges are designed to help skin tones and your subjects look their best, while lifted shadows and softer contrast keep the light gentle. They work on both photos and video, so the same warmth carries across stills and footage.

Are LUTs included in my PHLEARN PRO subscription?

Which programs do the LUTs work in?

Photoshop, Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro, After Effects, Lightroom Classic and most other photo and video editors. Use the .CUBE file unless your software asks for .3DL, .CSP or .ICC.

How do I use a LUT in Photoshop?

Choose Layer > New Adjustment Layer > Color Lookup, open the 3DLUT File menu in the Properties panel, choose Load 3D LUT and pick a .CUBE file from the Photoshop Quick Install folder. Set the strength with the layer’s Opacity.

How do I install LUTs in Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve or Final Cut Pro?

The PDF install guide in your download has a page for each one, and every step for every program is on our How to Install LUTs page.

The LUT looks too strong. What do I do?

Turn it down: lower the layer Opacity in Photoshop, the Intensity slider in Premiere Pro or the Mix slider in Final Cut Pro. In DaVinci Resolve, reduce Key Output Gain for that node.

Should I correct my photo before adding a LUT?

Yes. Set exposure and white balance first, then add the LUT on top. A LUT grades color; it does not correct it.

My LUTs don’t show up in DaVinci Resolve.

Skipping Update Lists is the usual reason. Open Project Settings > Color Management, click Update Lists, then Save.

Do you offer refunds?

Because these are downloadable products, all sales are final and we are not able to offer refunds.
