How to Install Your Presets
A short PDF that walks you through installing this pack in Lightroom Classic, Lightroom desktop and Lightroom on your phone, plus three tips for better results.
DESCRIPTION
Bring out the best parts of winter in the city with our Urban Winter Lightroom Presets. Create soft, bright whites and complement those with warm and vibrant skin tones.
Each look pulls back the highlights and opens the shadows, and nearly all lower contrast, made for snowy city streets, holiday shopping trips and portraits in heavy coats. After you apply one, adjust Exposure for very bright snow or a gray overcast day.
One zip holds the 10 presets as .xmp files, which work in Lightroom Classic, Lightroom on your computer and Lightroom on your phone, plus .dng versions for older releases of the mobile app, each in its own labeled folder, with 4 sample images to practice on and the PDF install guide.

Urban Winter Lightroom Presets · 10 Looks
Bright Snow, Warm Skin and Cool City Tones
Ten presets that mute the blues, soften bright winter light and keep skin warm, from clean whites to apricot and bronze. They work in Lightroom Classic and in Lightroom on desktop and mobile.

Cool Navajo
Cool Navajo gives this snowy campfire scene richer, deeper tones. The navy coat darkens toward a deep blue-black, the tan pants and plaid scarf hold their color, and the snow stays bright while the fire keeps its warm glow. Exposure rises by 0.15, and Contrast drops by 27.
Color Curves Add Depth
The red, green and blue curves each darken the shadows and brighten the light tones, an S shape that adds depth, while the main curve and Blacks slider keep the deepest black from going pure. Highlights come down hard so snow holds detail, and the main curve holds the brightest white just below pure white.
Cooler Colors Muted
Blues lose some saturation and lean slightly toward purple, and yellows and greens are quieted. Blues also get slightly darker, overall saturation drops by 7, and the white balance does not change.
Best on: snowy outdoor scenes, winter couples, and camping or fireside moments.

Mustard Breeze
Mustard Breeze turns the bright mall behind her a cool, pale white, and her mustard coat shifts toward a warmer golden orange. The red and blue shopping bags still stand out against the light background. White balance does not change, so the cool look comes from split toning.
A Cool Tint Behind Warm Color
Split toning adds blue to both the shadows and highlights, which cools white walls and glass. Yellows shift toward orange, so the coat reads warmer against that cool backdrop. Greens shift strongly toward yellow as well.
Softer Contrast, Solid Blacks
Contrast drops by 50 while Blacks are pulled down by 36, so dark sunglasses and pants stay solid as the rest of the frame softens. Greens lose about three quarters of their saturation. Blues and aquas lose 35 points, and Highlights come down by 28.
Best on: city shopping and street photos, bold yellow or orange clothing, and bright modern backgrounds.

Pale Bronze
Pale Bronze turns her mustard jacket a deeper bronze-orange and keeps the snowy field soft and bright. The husky’s black and white coat stays clean, and the bare trees behind them settle into a cool, muted tone. White balance moves 3 points cooler.
Lifted Blacks, Soft Contrast
Blacks rise by 58 and Contrast drops by 50, while the color curves add back some depth in the midtones. The result is soft, with no harsh shadows. Highlights come down by 38, and the main curve holds the brightest white below pure white.
Cool Tint, Fewer Cool Colors
Split toning adds blue to the shadows and highlights, while purples, aquas and blues lose much of their saturation, which keeps winter backgrounds cool but quiet. Yellows and greens each lose 37 points of saturation, and greens get darker.
Best on: winter portraits with pets, snowy fields, and warm-colored coats against a cold background.

Mystic Whites
Mystic Whites brightens the stone gate and keeps it a clean, neutral white. Skin stays soft and warm, the sun glow between the two women still shows, and the patterned sweaters hold their detail. Shadows lift by 21 and Highlights come down by 14.
Whites Up, Temperature Down
Whites rise by 24 and the white balance moves 5 points cooler, which helps take the yellow out of pale stone. Yellows also get darker and less saturated. Blues lose 34 points of saturation and get darker by 19.
A Touch of Warmth Back In
A light orange tint in both shadows and highlights keeps skin from going cold, and a small contrast boost keeps the white building from looking flat. On the tone curve, the shadows region drops by 35, which keeps the darkest areas firm.
Best on: city architecture, white or pale stone, overcast winter days, and couples in light clothing.

Muted Apricot
Muted Apricot gives the old buildings soft apricot and pink tones, and the sky picks up a warm blush. Her black coat and hat get deeper, and the gray boots stand out from the street. Exposure rises by 0.10, and the white balance moves 3 points cooler.
Reds Lean Pink
Red hue moves toward magenta and magentas move toward red, so both meet in a soft pink on brick and stucco. Yellows lose saturation, so the facades read pink rather than yellow. Oranges and yellows get slightly lighter, and blues lose 24 points of saturation.
Deeper Darks, Held Highlights
The color curves darken the shadows while Highlights come down by 64, so a dark coat gains weight and the bright sky keeps its detail. Contrast eases by 22, and a negative Dehaze of 10 softens the scene slightly.
Best on: street fashion, old city streets and facades, and portraits in dark coats.

Midnight Light
Midnight Light gives skin a richer, deeper glow while the background cools to a soft gray-blue. The knit hat and scarf take on a gentle blush tone, and her dark curls keep their detail. Contrast drops by 52, and the white balance does not change.
Capped Whites, Deep Darks
The tone curve stops the brightest tones short of pure white, and Blacks drop by 30, so the frame has a soft top end and solid shadows. Highlights come down by 68. Shadows lift by 26, and a small negative Dehaze adds a slight haze.
Richer Reds, Quieter Greens
Red saturation goes up by 21 while yellows, greens and blues lose color, so pink knits and warm skin stand out against a muted city. Magentas shift toward red, and faint orange and blue tints sit in the shadows and highlights.
Best on: winter portraits in hats and scarves, close-ups outdoors, and city shots on cloudy days.

Lightroom Preset Questions, Answered
What’s included in the Urban Winter Lightroom Presets?
The pack includes 10 presets: Caramel Solstice, Cool Navajo, Crystal Blush, Light Camel, Midnight Light, Mustard Breeze, Muted Apricot, Mystic Whites, New Beige and Pale Bronze. They come as .XMP presets for Lightroom Classic, Lightroom desktop and Lightroom on your phone, plus .DNG versions for older versions of the mobile app, and the download includes sample images to practice on.
What kind of photos are the Urban Winter Lightroom Presets made for?
They are made for winter photos in the city. The presets create soft, bright whites, like freshly packed snow, and pair them with warm, vibrant skin tones, so the cold scene feels fresh and clean while your subject stays warm. The featured look on the page is Caramel Solstice.
Which Urban Winter Lightroom Presets are shown on this page?
The before and after examples show Caramel Solstice, Cool Navajo, Midnight Light, Mustard Breeze, Muted Apricot, Mystic Whites and Pale Bronze. The pack also includes Crystal Blush, Light Camel and New Beige, and the sample images let you try all 10.
Are Lightroom Presets included in my PHLEARN PRO subscription?
Yes. A PHLEARN PRO membership includes every Lightroom Preset pack, plus PRO Tutorials, LUTs, Photoshop Actions and Photoshop Brushes.
Which version of Lightroom do I need?
The .XMP presets work in Lightroom Classic 7.3 and newer, in Lightroom on your computer and in Lightroom on your phone. For older versions of the mobile app, use the .DNG files in the download. We recommend the latest version.
How do I install Lightroom Presets?
In Lightroom Classic, open the Develop module, click the + in the Presets panel, choose Import Presets and select the .XMP files. The PDF install guide in your download covers Lightroom on your computer and your phone too, and every method is on our Lightroom Presets install guide.
I imported the pack, but I can’t see it.
The new group arrives collapsed and sits in alphabetical order. Scroll the Presets panel, find the group named after the pack and click its arrow.
Do I have to install the presets on my phone separately?
Not if you import them into Lightroom on your computer: within a few minutes they show up in Lightroom on any device signed in to the same Adobe account. If you use Lightroom Classic, import the .XMP files in the mobile app: open a photo, tap Presets, then Yours, then the three-dot menu and Import Presets.
Do the presets work on RAW and JPEG photos?
Yes. Every preset is built to work on both RAW and JPEG files, and each one can be adjusted after you apply it.
The preset looks too strong. What do I do?
Lower the Amount slider at the top of the Presets panel, then adjust White Balance and Exposure for that photo. Every photo starts from different light.
Do you offer refunds?
Because these are downloadable products, all sales are final and we are not able to offer refunds.
