DESCRIPTION

From deep blues seas to soft evening skies, these Lightroom Presets will help enhance blues while giving your images a calm, icy cool feel.

These looks pull back bright highlights on every photo while most raise the whites, so skies and water keep their detail in coastal scenes, cloudy beach walks and street portraits. After you apply one, adjust Temperature to choose how icy the blues feel.

One zip holds the 10 presets as .xmp files, which work in Lightroom Classic, Lightroom on your computer and Lightroom on your phone, plus .dng versions for older releases of the mobile app, each in its own labeled folder, with 4 sample images to practice on and the PDF install guide.

Deep Blues Lightroom Presets · 10 Looks

Steely Blues With Warm, Natural Skin

Ten presets that give photos a cool, blue-leaning grade while keeping skin and wood tones warm. They work in Lightroom Classic and in Lightroom on desktop and mobile.

Farrow Smoke

Farrow Smoke adds contrast and a cool-warm split to this street portrait. The dark wall takes on a cooler, blue-gray cast, the denim jacket gets a deeper blue, and the wood pallets stay warm and light. White balance warms by just 2, so the cool feel comes from the color tints rather than a cooler balance.

Blue Shadows, Warm Highlights

A blue tint goes into the shadows and a soft orange into the highlights. Contrast goes up, while highlights and whites come down and shadows lift, so detail holds at both ends. Blacks barely move, and a faint vignette darkens the edges.

Indigo-Leaning Denim

Blues shift toward indigo, aquas toward blue, and blues gain a little saturation. Oranges get slightly brighter, which keeps skin and wood warm against the cooler background. Luminance noise reduction is set to 19, which smooths fine noise.

Best on: street and urban portraits, denim, and dark walls or concrete.

Included – PHLEARN Cool DuskOriginal

Cool Dusk

Cool Dusk cools this cloudy beach and gives it a steely, evening feel. The sky, wet sand and seaweed shift toward blue-gray, while the striped red poncho keeps its color and becomes the warm focal point. Contrast rises by 10, which keeps the cooler scene from looking flat.

Cooler Balance, Lifted Blacks

White balance moves cooler and a blue tint goes into the shadows. Blacks lift a lot while shadows and highlights both come down, which gives a soft but moody tonal range. Whites go up by 13, and a warm gold tint goes into the highlights.

Vibrance Up, Blues Held Back

Vibrance gets a big boost and oranges gain saturation, while blues lose some, so warm clothing pops without the sky going electric. Oranges and blues also get slightly lighter, by 5 and 6.

Best on: coastlines, overcast skies, and travel shots where you want an icy evening mood.

Included – PHLEARN Blue SpellOriginal

Blue Spell

Blue Spell cools and fades the scene. The pale green-tinted walls of the stairwell turn a soft steel blue, the black jacket opens up into a cool charcoal, and the jeans settle into a deeper blue. Shadows and blacks both lift.

A Faded, Blue Black Point

The tone curve lifts the black point for a matte finish, and the blue curve lifts it further, so the darkest areas pick up a blue tint. Contrast and whites come down too. Highlights drop by 16, and a faint vignette darkens the edges.

Cool Light, Calm Mood

White balance shifts cooler, blues get a little darker and a light blue tint goes into the highlights, for a quiet, calm feel that still keeps skin natural. A faint orange tint in the shadows adds a touch of warmth under the cool grade.

Best on: portraits in stairwells and modern architecture, dark clothing, and urban settings with glass or concrete.

Included – PHLEARN Soft NormandyOriginal

Soft Normandy

Soft Normandy adds depth and punch. The denim jacket turns a cleaner, bluer shade, the rusted bars and stairs behind her go a richer orange-brown, and the brick wall cools down. Clarity, texture and the tone curve are left alone, so the punch comes from the basic tone settings.

Deeper Shadows, Held Highlights

Contrast goes up and both shadows and blacks are pulled down hard, while highlights come down a lot so her white shirt and jeans keep detail. Whites go up by 15, which keeps the brightest areas clean. A light vignette darkens the edges.

Blue and Orange Accents

White balance cools slightly and blues gain saturation, while oranges get a little brighter and richer. A warm tint in the shadows and a blue tint in the highlights complete the split. Vibrance rises by only 3.

Best on: street fashion, rusted metal and brick, and outfits in blue and white.

Included – PHLEARN Soft BuxtonOriginal

Soft Buxton

Soft Buxton keeps the golden sunset light but calms it down. The family’s knit hats and skin stay warm and a little softer, while the lake and distant mountains pick up a clearer blue. White balance warms by only 1, so the golden light comes from the original scene.

A Matte Finish, Softer Highlights

The tone curve lifts the black point for a faded look and highlights come down hard, while whites go up so the brightest parts stay clean. Contrast drops by 9 and shadows by 15, while blacks rise by 11.

Bluer Blues, Gentler Oranges

Blues gain a lot of saturation and shift toward indigo, while oranges lose some color but get a little brighter. That keeps sunlit skin from going too orange. Faint blue tints the shadows and faint gold the highlights.

Best on: family and outdoor portraits at sunset, lakes and mountains, and scenes that mix warm light with cool blues.

What kind of photos are the Deep Blues Lightroom Presets made for?

They are made for photos with blue in them, from deep blue seas to soft evening skies. The presets enhance blues and add cool, steely tones, giving your images a calm, icy and confident feel.

Which Deep Blues presets are shown on this page?

The before and afters on this page show Blue Spell, Cool Dusk, Farrow Smoke, Seven Seas, Soft Buxton and Soft Normandy. Seven Seas is the featured look. Each one is a starting point you can adjust in Lightroom after you apply it.

Are Lightroom Presets included in my PHLEARN PRO subscription?

Which version of Lightroom do I need?

The .XMP presets work in Lightroom Classic 7.3 and newer, in Lightroom on your computer and in Lightroom on your phone. For older versions of the mobile app, use the .DNG files in the download. We recommend the latest version.

How do I install Lightroom Presets?

In Lightroom Classic, open the Develop module, click the + in the Presets panel, choose Import Presets and select the .XMP files. The PDF install guide in your download covers Lightroom on your computer and your phone too, and every method is on our Lightroom Presets install guide.

I imported the pack, but I can’t see it.

The new group arrives collapsed and sits in alphabetical order. Scroll the Presets panel, find the group named after the pack and click its arrow.

Do I have to install the presets on my phone separately?

Not if you import them into Lightroom on your computer: within a few minutes they show up in Lightroom on any device signed in to the same Adobe account. If you use Lightroom Classic, import the .XMP files in the mobile app: open a photo, tap Presets, then Yours, then the three-dot menu and Import Presets.

Do the presets work on RAW and JPEG photos?

Yes. Every preset is built to work on both RAW and JPEG files, and each one can be adjusted after you apply it.

The preset looks too strong. What do I do?

Lower the Amount slider at the top of the Presets panel, then adjust White Balance and Exposure for that photo. Every photo starts from different light.

Do you offer refunds?

Because these are downloadable products, all sales are final and we are not able to offer refunds.
