How to Install Your Presets
A short PDF that walks you through installing this pack in Lightroom Classic, Lightroom desktop and Lightroom on your phone, plus three tips for better results.
DESCRIPTION
Photos that feel like a marshmallow in your hot cocoa. Add some muted color and softened highlights to your images with our Neutral Airy Lightroom Presets.
Nearly every preset raises exposure and opens the shadows, and all ten pull down bright highlights, so portraits, flowers and small still lifes come out pale and light. After you apply one, add a little Vibrance back if skin looks too gray.
One zip holds the 10 presets as .xmp files, which work in Lightroom Classic, Lightroom on your computer and Lightroom on your phone, plus .dng versions for older releases of the mobile app, each in its own labeled folder, with 4 sample images to practice on and the PDF install guide.

Neutral Airy Lightroom Presets · 10 Looks
Soft, Muted Color With a Light Matte Finish
Ten presets that lower contrast, pull back saturation and lift the blacks for a calm, airy look. They work in Lightroom Classic and in Lightroom on desktop and mobile.

A Soft, Airy Look for the Whole Feed
All ten Neutral Airy presets lower contrast and reduce saturation, so a feed of portraits, flowers and details turns softer and quieter as a set. On the right, strong colors fade to gentle pastels and every photo shares the same light feel.
Highlights Pulled Way Down
Every preset drops the Highlights slider by 70 or more, which keeps white dresses, walls and skies from blowing out. Each one also lifts the darkest tones, through the Blacks slider or the tone curve, for a soft matte base. Shadows open up in nine of the ten, with Lili White the only exception.
Greens Fade Back
Greens lose saturation in every preset, so leaves and busy backgrounds turn quiet. Seven of the ten leave white balance unchanged, and none add grain or a vignette.
Best on: lifestyle and wedding feeds, flat lays and details, and portraits in soft natural light.

Soft Silk
Soft Silk brightens the portrait and turns her deep pink hair a pale, dusty rose. The dark gray background lightens to a soft mid gray, and her skin gets lighter while keeping a gentle warmth. White balance does not change.
Brighter and Lower in Contrast
Exposure goes up 0.45 and Highlights come down hard, while Blacks lift and the tone curve raises the black point. Contrast drops, so nothing in the frame reads as pure black. The curve also holds the brightest whites just below pure white.
Color Pulled Back
Overall saturation drops by 30, and aquas and blues lose about half their color. Reds and oranges are muted too, which is what softens bright hair and makeup. Blues and aquas also turn darker, by 35 and 25, and greens lose 45 points of saturation.
Best on: beauty and hair portraits, close-ups with bold colors, and studio shots against a dark backdrop.

Pale Orchid
Pale Orchid fades the vivid purple of the lavender field to a soft, pale lilac, and the hills and sky wash into a misty gray. The white dress and sun hat become the clearest things in the frame. Purples lose 19 points of saturation, which helps the lavender turn pale.
Lifted Midtones, Low Contrast
Contrast drops by more than half and the tone curve lifts the midtones, while Highlights and Whites come down and Blacks rise. The whole frame turns lighter and flatter. Shadows open up by 33.
Quiet Color, Warm Shadows
Saturation comes down by 36 overall, with extra cuts to yellows, greens and aquas. A faint yellow tint in the shadows keeps the look warm rather than cold. Vibrance drops by 14 as well, and the highlights carry only a very slight gold tint.
Best on: flower fields and gardens, wide outdoor portraits, and lifestyle photos with strong color you want to quiet down.

Sand Dance
Sand Dance takes the strong amber light out of this window portrait. The sunlit wall goes from orange to a clean, pale white, the pink dress turns soft and light, and her skin keeps a natural warmth. White balance warms by only 2.
Very Low Contrast
Contrast drops by 80, Highlights by 92, and both Shadows and Blacks lift a lot, with the tone curve raising the black point too. Hard window light turns soft and even. The tone curve’s shadows and highlights regions drop by 37 and 42.
Brighter Yellows and Oranges
Overall saturation comes down by 32, but yellows and oranges get brighter, which helps warm walls and skin turn light rather than muddy. Purples and magentas lose much of their color. Greens lose 60 points of saturation, and blues and aquas turn darker.
Best on: portraits in warm window light, indoor shots with a yellow or orange color cast, and bright, minimal backgrounds.

Lightroom Preset Questions, Answered
What’s included in the Neutral Airy Lightroom Presets?
The pack includes 10 presets: Pale Orchid, Zen Moss, Softest Pink, Harbor Berry, Lili White, Rose Quartz, November Rain, Sand Dance, Chamomile and Soft Silk. They come as .XMP presets for Lightroom Classic, Lightroom desktop and Lightroom on your phone, plus .DNG versions for older versions of the mobile app.
What kind of photos are the Neutral Airy Lightroom Presets made for?
They suit anyone who likes muted, airy looks, especially wedding and lifestyle images. The presets add muted color, soften highlights and drop the saturation for a soft, dreamy, calming feel, with subtle color accents that put more focus on your subject.
How do the Neutral Airy Lightroom Presets treat skin tones?
Even though these presets desaturate and soften the scene, they preserve the reds and oranges in skin, which helps your subjects look warm and natural. The before and after examples on the page show Pale Orchid, Sand Dance and Soft Silk.
Are Lightroom Presets included in my PHLEARN PRO subscription?
Yes. A PHLEARN PRO membership includes every Lightroom Preset pack, plus PRO Tutorials, LUTs, Photoshop Actions and Photoshop Brushes.
Which version of Lightroom do I need?
The .XMP presets work in Lightroom Classic 7.3 and newer, in Lightroom on your computer and in Lightroom on your phone. For older versions of the mobile app, use the .DNG files in the download. We recommend the latest version.
How do I install Lightroom Presets?
In Lightroom Classic, open the Develop module, click the + in the Presets panel, choose Import Presets and select the .XMP files. The PDF install guide in your download covers Lightroom on your computer and your phone too, and every method is on our Lightroom Presets install guide.
I imported the pack, but I can’t see it.
The new group arrives collapsed and sits in alphabetical order. Scroll the Presets panel, find the group named after the pack and click its arrow.
Do I have to install the presets on my phone separately?
Not if you import them into Lightroom on your computer: within a few minutes they show up in Lightroom on any device signed in to the same Adobe account. If you use Lightroom Classic, import the .XMP files in the mobile app: open a photo, tap Presets, then Yours, then the three-dot menu and Import Presets.
Do the presets work on RAW and JPEG photos?
Yes. Every preset is built to work on both RAW and JPEG files, and each one can be adjusted after you apply it.
The preset looks too strong. What do I do?
Lower the Amount slider at the top of the Presets panel, then adjust White Balance and Exposure for that photo. Every photo starts from different light.
Do you offer refunds?
Because these are downloadable products, all sales are final and we are not able to offer refunds.
