How to Install Your Presets
A short PDF that walks you through installing this pack in Lightroom Classic, Lightroom desktop and Lightroom on your phone, plus three tips for better results.
DESCRIPTION
There’s nothing quite like the bond between mother and child, and photos of that bond need a special touch. Soften skin, lift shadows, and add subtle, matte coloring to your most important images.
Every preset brightens the shadows and raises the black point, and nearly all lower Dehaze for a hazy glow, so they suit nursery portraits, feeding moments and cuddles on the bed. After you apply one, adjust Temperature if a baby’s skin looks too yellow.
One zip holds the 10 presets as .xmp files, which work in Lightroom Classic, Lightroom on your computer and Lightroom on your phone, plus .dng versions for older releases of the mobile app, each in its own labeled folder, with 4 sample images to practice on and the PDF install guide.

Soft, Bright Tones for Family Moments
Ten presets that open the shadows and soften the light for bright, gentle skin and clean whites. They work in Lightroom Classic and in Lightroom on desktop and mobile.
Soft Lace
Soft Lace brightens the room and softens the light coming through the window. Skin looks lighter and warm, the white tops stay clean, and the yellow cushion and wood shelves calm down against the pale walls. White balance does not change, and Contrast comes down by 20.
Every Color a Little Brighter
Luminance goes up by about 24 for every color range, which lifts skin, clothing and decor together. Whites rise while Highlights come down, so bright areas stay clean without blowing out. Shadows and Blacks lift slightly, by 12 and 13.
Yellows Toned Down
Yellow saturation drops by 40, and a faint yellow tint in the highlights keeps the overall feel warm and creamy. Negative Dehaze adds a soft haze. Every other color loses a small amount of saturation, between 7 and 11.
Best on: playful indoor moments, bright living rooms, and photos of a parent lifting or holding a child.
Scotch Mist
Scotch Mist turns the frame brighter and more pastel. The mother’s dark hair softens to brown, the baby’s blue top goes pale, and skin turns light and peachy for a dreamy, gentle finish on the kiss. Highlights rise by 26, and white balance does not change.
Deep Shadows Lifted
Contrast drops by 60, and Shadows and Blacks both rise by about 50, so dark hair and clothing open up into soft midtones. Whites come down to keep the brightest areas from glaring. Clarity and Dehaze both dip slightly, which softens edges.
Pastel Color
Greens, aquas, blues, purples and magentas lose about a quarter of their saturation and get brighter, which turns strong colors into gentle pastels. Skin stays warm because reds and oranges change very little. Yellows turn darker by 11, and very faint tints sit in the shadows and highlights.
Best on: close-ups of babies and moms, cuddles on the couch, and soft daylight indoors.
Neutral White
Neutral White takes the yellow out of the knit blanket, the striped outfit and the white shirts, so the whites look clean. Skin stays natural, and the whole scene gets a little brighter and softer. A small negative Dehaze of 8 adds to the softness.
Yellows Pulled Back
Yellow saturation drops by 33, and purples, magentas, blues and aquas lose about a fifth of their color too, while oranges gain slightly to keep skin healthy. Greens lose 16 points of saturation and reds lose 9.
Lighter, Gentler Contrast
Contrast eases by 30, Shadows and Blacks lift, and luminance goes up across every color range, which brightens skin and fabric without touching the white balance. Highlights rise slightly by 6 while Whites ease down by 6, so bright fabric keeps its detail.
Best on: photos with lots of white bedding or clothing, newborns, and family shots on the bed or floor.
Light Peony
Light Peony gives this feeding moment a soft, hazy glow. Skin picks up a gentle rosy tone, the white shirt and diaper stay bright, and the shadows across the blanket open up for a tender, quiet feel. Shadows lift by 46 and Highlights come down by 32.
Blacks Lifted High
Blacks rise by 59 and Contrast drops by 55, so nothing in the frame reaches deep black. Negative Dehaze adds a light, airy haze over the scene. Whites rise by just 6, and white balance does not change.
A Pink Tint in the Highlights
Split toning adds a faint red-pink to the highlights, and reds and oranges gain a little saturation while cooler colors are muted, which keeps the warmth on skin. Yellows lose 16 points of saturation, and aquas lose the most at 22.
Best on: nursing and feeding moments, close-ups of hands and baby skin, and calm indoor light.
Airy Frost
Airy Frost lifts the whole scene so it feels light and fresh. Skin brightens, the white baby clothes stay clean, and the mother’s dark hair opens up to show more of its detail and shine. Highlights and Whites both come down by 12.
Shadows and Blacks Opened
Shadows and Blacks both rise by about 45 and Contrast drops by 45, which takes the heaviness out of dark hair and backgrounds and leaves the whole frame soft and open. There is no Dehaze, split toning or white balance change.
Brighter Skin Tones
Orange and yellow luminance go up, so skin gets lighter without changing its color. Cooler color ranges get brighter as well, each by 24, and blues lose some saturation for a calmer background. Yellows lose 17 points of saturation, and reds lose 7.
Best on: nose-to-nose moments, bright daytime portraits, and photos that feel a little heavy or dark.
Warm Sandy
Warm Sandy softens and brightens this smiling portrait. The peach shirt and her skin get a little lighter and warmer, the baby’s pink outfit stays soft, and the white curtains behind them turn a quiet, creamy gray. White balance and exposure do not change.
Gentle Highlights, Lifted Shadows
Highlights come down by 43 while Shadows and Blacks rise, so skin and white fabric hold detail and dark hair stays soft. Contrast drops a little. Whites ease down by 9, and Dehaze dips slightly by 4.
Warm Colors Up, Cool Colors Down
Reds, oranges and yellows get brighter, while greens and blues lose about half their saturation. A faint purple tint sits in the shadows. Yellows lose 12 points of saturation and oranges 7, and the highlights carry an even fainter gold tint.
Best on: smiling portraits of mom and baby, posed family photos at home, and pastel or peach clothing.

They are made for photos of mothers and their children, and baby photos in general. The presets soften skin, lift shadows and add subtle, matte coloring for a bright, clean look: warm skin, bright smiles and soft color. They work with both RAW and JPEG photos.
Which Moms and Babies presets are shown on this page?
The before and after examples show Airy Frost, Light Peony, Neutral White, New Vanilla, Scotch Mist, Soft Lace and Warm Sandy, with New Vanilla as the featured look. The other presets in the pack are Cloud Nine, Moon Dust and New Pearl.

Which version of Lightroom do I need?
The .XMP presets work in Lightroom Classic 7.3 and newer, in Lightroom on your computer and in Lightroom on your phone. For older versions of the mobile app, use the .DNG files in the download. We recommend the latest version.
How do I install Lightroom Presets?
In Lightroom Classic, open the Develop module, click the + in the Presets panel, choose Import Presets and select the .XMP files. The PDF install guide in your download covers Lightroom on your computer and your phone too, and every method is on our Lightroom Presets install guide.
I imported the pack, but I can’t see it.
The new group arrives collapsed and sits in alphabetical order. Scroll the Presets panel, find the group named after the pack and click its arrow.
Do I have to install the presets on my phone separately?
Not if you import them into Lightroom on your computer: within a few minutes they show up in Lightroom on any device signed in to the same Adobe account. If you use Lightroom Classic, import the .XMP files in the mobile app: open a photo, tap Presets, then Yours, then the three-dot menu and Import Presets.
Do the presets work on RAW and JPEG photos?
Yes. Every preset is built to work on both RAW and JPEG files, and each one can be adjusted after you apply it.
The preset looks too strong. What do I do?
Lower the Amount slider at the top of the Presets panel, then adjust White Balance and Exposure for that photo. Every photo starts from different light.
