How to Install Your Presets
A short PDF that walks you through installing this pack in Lightroom Classic, Lightroom desktop and Lightroom on your phone, plus three tips for better results.
DESCRIPTION
No matter if you’re a cat person or a dog person, we’ve got Lightroom Presets that will help your furry friends look their best in any photo! Instantly brighten up dark images, add warm color tones, and reduce contrast to give fur a clean and soft look.
Highlights and whites drop on all ten so white fur keeps its detail, and nearly all brighten the shadows, which works well for dogs, cats and their owners at home. After you apply one, raise Exposure if a black dog’s face looks too dark.
One zip holds the 10 presets as .xmp files, which work in Lightroom Classic, Lightroom on your computer and Lightroom on your phone, plus .dng versions for older releases of the mobile app, each in its own labeled folder, with 4 sample images to practice on and the PDF install guide.

Pet Photography Lightroom Presets · 10 Looks
Soft, Bright Tones for Fur and Faces
Ten presets that pull back bright highlights, open dark fur and add gentle warmth to photos of pets and their people. They work in Lightroom Classic and in Lightroom on desktop and mobile.

One Cozy Look for Every Pet Photo
The ten Pets presets give a feed of cats, dogs and the people who love them one soft, cozy look. Across the grid, white fur gets cleaner, golden and brown coats come through warmer, and dark corners open up so every pet is easy to see. None of the ten changes exposure or adds grain.
Brighter Shadows, Softer Whites
All ten pull down the highlights and whites, so white fur keeps its detail, and nine of them lift the blacks so dark coats and eyes don’t go muddy. Nine also raise the shadows, by as much as 69.
Quieter Blues Behind Them
Nine reduce blue saturation, which keeps cool walls, floors and window light from competing with warm fur and skin. Seven also mute greens, and eight add saturation to oranges.
Best on: dogs and cats at home, pets with kids, and a full pet account feed.

Cotton Knit
Cotton Knit lights up this indoor scene with a golden retriever and kitten. The dog’s coat turns a brighter, glowing orange-copper, the kitten’s white and gray fur stays clean, and the window light behind them stays soft. Contrast eases by 10, and the white balance is left alone.
Reds Turned Golden
Red hue moves +47 toward orange, which pushes red-brown fur toward copper and gold. Every color also gets a little brighter, so the whole room feels lighter. Oranges gain a little saturation, while every other color loses some.
Highlights Held, Shadows Opened
Highlights drop by 45 and whites by 31 while shadows and blacks lift, and the tone curve rolls off the brightest whites. A dehaze cut and slight vignette keep it soft. Vibrance drops by 7, which keeps the warm colors from getting too strong.
Best on: golden, red or brown dogs, pets by a bright window and two-pet moments indoors.

Clean Whites
Clean Whites opens up this close-up of a tabby and its owner. The cat’s gray and brown stripes show more detail, the white whiskers and muzzle read cleaner, and the warm wood floor and her skin stay natural. Highlights ease by just 12.
Shadows Up, Whites Down
Shadows rise by 52 and blacks by 26 while whites drop by 40 and contrast by 36, so dark fur opens up and bright fur keeps texture. Small clarity and texture boosts keep whiskers sharp. The tone curve lifts the shadows and darks further.
Slightly Cooler Balance
Temperature shifts a little cooler and the tint moves slightly toward green, and blues lose a good share of their color and get darker. Reds and oranges gain saturation, so noses, lips and wood keep their warmth. Faint warm tints go into the shadows and highlights.
Best on: tabby and gray cats, close-up pet portraits and photos with white whiskers or markings.

Warm Golden
Warm Golden lays a golden glow over this sweet moment with a beagle. The girl’s hair and the dog’s ears pick up honey tones, her skin looks sunny, and the white rug turns a soft cream. Contrast eases by 14, and exposure is unchanged.
Warm Tints, Not Temperature
The warmth comes from split toning: an orange tint in the shadows and a yellow tint in the highlights. White balance is left alone. The shadow tint is the stronger of the two, so the darker tones carry most of the warmth.
Bright Whites Brought Down
Whites drop by 57 and highlights by 52 while shadows and blacks lift a little, so a bright window and white rug keep their detail. Yellows get a bit darker, which adds depth to the gold. A small dehaze cut softens the frame.
Best on: kids with pets, beagles and tan or tri-color dogs, and photos on a light rug or floor.

Lightroom Preset Questions, Answered
What’s included in the Pets Lightroom Presets?
The Pets Lightroom Presets include 10 presets: Bright Moonstone, Vanilla Touch, Mindful White, Pearl White, Crisp Ivory, Softest Silver Mist, Clean Whites, Warm Golden, Cotton Knit and Antique Beige. They come as .XMP presets for Lightroom Classic, Lightroom desktop and Lightroom on your phone, plus .DNG versions for older versions of the mobile app.
What kind of photos are the Pets Lightroom Presets made for?
Photos of cats, dogs and other furry friends, especially ones taken at home in front of a neutral-colored background like your living room. The presets brighten dark images by lifting shadows and harsh transitions, add warm color tones and reduce contrast, which keeps the attention on your pet.
How do the Pets Lightroom Presets treat fur?
They reduce contrast to add softness and shine to fur, and they enhance browns, beiges, grays and golds to bring out your pet’s natural colors. Subtle warm coloring gives the coat an inviting look. Bright Moonstone is the featured look on this page.
Are Lightroom Presets included in my PHLEARN PRO subscription?
Yes. A PHLEARN PRO membership includes every Lightroom Preset pack, plus PRO Tutorials, LUTs, Photoshop Actions and Photoshop Brushes.
Which version of Lightroom do I need?
The .XMP presets work in Lightroom Classic 7.3 and newer, in Lightroom on your computer and in Lightroom on your phone. For older versions of the mobile app, use the .DNG files in the download. We recommend the latest version.
How do I install Lightroom Presets?
In Lightroom Classic, open the Develop module, click the + in the Presets panel, choose Import Presets and select the .XMP files. The PDF install guide in your download covers Lightroom on your computer and your phone too, and every method is on our Lightroom Presets install guide.
I imported the pack, but I can’t see it.
The new group arrives collapsed and sits in alphabetical order. Scroll the Presets panel, find the group named after the pack and click its arrow.
Do I have to install the presets on my phone separately?
Not if you import them into Lightroom on your computer: within a few minutes they show up in Lightroom on any device signed in to the same Adobe account. If you use Lightroom Classic, import the .XMP files in the mobile app: open a photo, tap Presets, then Yours, then the three-dot menu and Import Presets.
Do the presets work on RAW and JPEG photos?
Yes. Every preset is built to work on both RAW and JPEG files, and each one can be adjusted after you apply it.
The preset looks too strong. What do I do?
Lower the Amount slider at the top of the Presets panel, then adjust White Balance and Exposure for that photo. Every photo starts from different light.
Do you offer refunds?
Because these are downloadable products, all sales are final and we are not able to offer refunds.
