How to Install Your Presets
A short PDF that walks you through installing this pack in Lightroom Classic, Lightroom desktop and Lightroom on your phone, plus three tips for better results.
DESCRIPTION
Add deep blacks and creamy color toning to any image with our Vibrant Blacks Lightroom Presets!
All ten lower saturation and pull back the highlights, and most raise the whites, add clarity and warm the photo, which suits doorway portraits, wedding couples and city street scenes. After you apply one, lift Shadows if a black suit loses its detail.
One zip holds the 10 presets as .xmp files, which work in Lightroom Classic, Lightroom on your computer and Lightroom on your phone, plus .dng versions for older releases of the mobile app, each in its own labeled folder, with 4 sample images to practice on and the PDF install guide.

Vibrant Blacks Lightroom Presets · 10 Looks
Deep Shadows and Creamy Vintage Color
Ten presets that deepen shadows, quiet saturation and warm the light for a timeless, film-print feel. They work in Lightroom Classic and in Lightroom on desktop and mobile.

Deep Blacks Across the Whole Feed
The Vibrant Blacks pack is ten presets built around deep shadows and quieter color. Across a feed of portraits, weddings and street scenes, shadows get darker and colors calm down, so every post shares one rich, slightly vintage look. Clarity rises in nine of the ten for a little extra crispness.
Deeper Shadows in Eight Looks
Eight presets lower the Blacks slider and eight use a tone curve that dips the shadows, while every preset pulls highlights down to keep skies and white dresses intact. The tone curve’s shadow region also comes down in nine, and three add a vignette.
Less Saturation, Warmer Light
All ten lower overall Saturation, and eight shift the white balance warmer, which gives skin and whites a creamy, film-like tone. Yellow saturation drops in every preset and Vibrance drops in eight, keeping color restrained.
Best on: portraits, weddings and street photos you post as a set.

Morpheus
Morpheus turns the doorway behind her into deep, inky shadow while brightening her skin and the pale shirt, so she stands out from the dark background. The warm cast in the original is toned down. Temperature does not change, so that comes from saturation cuts.
A Shadow-Dipping Tone Curve
The tone curve and the parametric Shadows control pull the dark tones down, while Whites rise and a vignette darkens the edges. That is where the inky background comes from. On the same curve the upper midtones brighten slightly, and Highlights come down by 33.
Lighter, Quieter Colors
Every color range loses saturation, from about a quarter to over half, and reds through blues get brighter. Skin looks lighter and more neutral, and the wood loses its orange. Overall Saturation drops by 10 and Vibrance by 5 on top of that.
Best on: moody portraits in doorways and windows, low-light indoor scenes, and subjects against dark backgrounds.

Jet Black
Jet Black darkens the shadows, mutes the green trees and adds a creamy warmth that turns the white dress ivory. The black suit stays rich against the warm, softened scene, like a classic film print. Contrast rises by 17 to add depth.
A Strong Warm White Balance
The white balance moves well toward warm, and highlights and whites come down hard. That turns bright white fabric and pavement cream instead of stark white. Oranges also shift strongly toward red and yellows toward orange, which pushes warm tones deeper.
Greens Darkened and Muted
Greens shift toward yellow, lose about half their saturation and get much darker, so busy foliage falls back. The Shadows slider and the tone curve pull the darks down for added contrast. The Blacks slider rises by 32, though, so the very deepest tones keep some detail.
Best on: weddings and engagements, black-tie outfits, and outdoor portraits with busy green backgrounds.

Old Ochre
Old Ochre fades the blue sky to a pale, creamy pink and warms her skin and curls toward ochre and copper. Her dark top and overalls stay deep against the bright rooftop for a sunny, retro feel. Highlights come down by 68, which holds detail in the bright areas.
Blue Sky Turned Cream
Blues lose about two-thirds of their saturation and aquas about half, while a warmer, more magenta white balance fills in the color. The sky goes from blue to soft cream. Purples and magentas lose most of their saturation as well.
Darker Shadows, Brighter Skin
Shadows and Blacks are lowered and the tone curve dips the darks, while exposure and orange luminance rise a little. Overall Saturation drops for a faded print look. Contrast falls by 26 while Dehaze rises by 12, the most in the pack.
Best on: outdoor portraits in late-day sun, rooftop and city shots, and dark clothing against a bright sky.

Lightroom Preset Questions, Answered
What’s included in the Vibrant Blacks Lightroom Presets?
The Vibrant Blacks Lightroom Presets include 10 presets: Jet Black, Cool Ashes, Abbot, Evening Hush, Dark Abalone, Old Ochre, Black Smoke, Boulder, Earth Stone and Morpheus. They come as .XMP presets for Lightroom Classic, Lightroom desktop and Lightroom on your phone, plus .DNG versions for older versions of the mobile app.
What kind of photos are the Vibrant Blacks Lightroom Presets made for?
Photos you want to give a timeless, nostalgic feel. The presets add deep blacks and creamy color toning, with soft fades and film grain for an analog look, as if the photo came straight from the darkroom. Adding a sense of time and place can help a photo tell a better story.
Which Vibrant Blacks Lightroom Presets are shown on this page?
The before-and-after examples on this page show Jet Black and Morpheus, two of the 10 presets in the pack. Like every preset here, they are fully customizable, so you can use them as they come or adjust them with the coloring tools in Lightroom.
Are Lightroom Presets included in my PHLEARN PRO subscription?
Yes. A PHLEARN PRO membership includes every Lightroom Preset pack, plus PRO Tutorials, LUTs, Photoshop Actions and Photoshop Brushes.
Which version of Lightroom do I need?
The .XMP presets work in Lightroom Classic 7.3 and newer, in Lightroom on your computer and in Lightroom on your phone. For older versions of the mobile app, use the .DNG files in the download. We recommend the latest version.
How do I install Lightroom Presets?
In Lightroom Classic, open the Develop module, click the + in the Presets panel, choose Import Presets and select the .XMP files. The PDF install guide in your download covers Lightroom on your computer and your phone too, and every method is on our Lightroom Presets install guide.
I imported the pack, but I can’t see it.
The new group arrives collapsed and sits in alphabetical order. Scroll the Presets panel, find the group named after the pack and click its arrow.
Do I have to install the presets on my phone separately?
Not if you import them into Lightroom on your computer: within a few minutes they show up in Lightroom on any device signed in to the same Adobe account. If you use Lightroom Classic, import the .XMP files in the mobile app: open a photo, tap Presets, then Yours, then the three-dot menu and Import Presets.
Do the presets work on RAW and JPEG photos?
Yes. Every preset is built to work on both RAW and JPEG files, and each one can be adjusted after you apply it.
The preset looks too strong. What do I do?
Lower the Amount slider at the top of the Presets panel, then adjust White Balance and Exposure for that photo. Every photo starts from different light.
Do you offer refunds?
Because these are downloadable products, all sales are final and we are not able to offer refunds.
