Brightening Eyes – Episode #12 Monday

This is a great way to make eyes stand out in an image. We are going to be brightening them up. There are like 100 ways to do this, but we will be covering one of them today. Simple and easy. We will be using the Brush Tool, Layers, Overlay, Color Dodge, Gaussian Blur Filter, Elliptical Marquee Tool and Layer Masks in Photoshop.

Quick question guys… I just scanned through the comments to see if this has been asked before but I couldn’t find it. So here it is: What about very dark brown eye colors? Which color do you use to enhance? Red?… Orange?… ugh, orange is terrible… I don’t wanna make my models look like Glitter Vampires from Twilight!

This is very good… You guys are great!

Really cool! I mostly do it with a dodge tool but I prefer this one here because sometimes if the eye is really dark it sometimes looks unnatural. Just tried this while watching the episode and I like the effect!

awesome, the videos are short but it gives you a quick but effective glimpse !
I would love to become an expert in photography and photoshop… but it doesn’t seem that feasible with just these tutorials.
Would you mind giving some pointers about how and when you started off ?

Want to see the exact size of the brush when you are painting painting in PS. This is not turned on by default. To change this, go to “Edit” >> “Preferences” >> “Display and Cursors”. Set the settings for the cursors to Brush Size.
