PRO Photoshop Tutorial

This is a Photoshop tutorial perfect for anyone photographing weddings/engagements/seniors/families etc. You will learn how to identify and solve problems with color and exposure, as well as add style.

If you are looking to add another style to your editing and make images look more romantic, this Photoshop Tutorial is perfect for you. In this special tutorial we cover 2 different images, and apply effects to both of them.

Bonus: 8 Free Textures, 1 Brush, and 3 Curves Included.

Learn From Start to Finish

Color and Light

Sometimes your images won’t come out perfectly exposed, once that was a problem, but not anymore. In the original photo the couple was a little underexposed, drawing less attention to them. The bride had too much red in her face and too much blue on her shoulders. You will learn how to solve exposure and color problems for any image.

Create Bokeh

Don’t worry, you don’t have to paint it in with the brush tool, we provide textures for you to simply copy and paste. Bokeh provides a great out of focus look to your image, simulating a more shallow DOF. You can also use this technique to hide blemishes or distracting elements.

Light Glow

Nothing says romantic image like light rays coming in through the trees, and bright glowing skies. In this tutorial you will learn how to simulate light rays, as well as make light look like it is glowing around your subjects.

8 Free Textures Included

With these included textures you will be able to simulate bokeh over your image, making the overall feel of the image more romantic. It is much easier to do than you might think, just bring in these included textures, and change the blending mode of the layer to SCREEN and you are good to go!

If you are looking for more bokeh textures, we have the largest bokeh texture library on the internet! Check it out here

Free Included Curves

If you struggle with coloring your images and are not extremely confident with curves, you can simply use these. In the photoshop tutorial, we cover how to save and load curves for use at any time. Bring these into any image, and they will color your image instantly!

RAW Conversions

You will learn how to process an image going from RAW into Photoshop, and how to best work with multiple instances of RAW files.

Final Image 2

Special thanks to Thad and Sarah Lawrence of 2&3 Photography for providing these great images!

What a great presentation full of ideas. It really helped me see many more possibilities in my own photographs. Thanks for all the extras that go with your presentation. They are a great resource as well!

I used the ideas in this tutorial on my own image and uploaded it to Flickr. The next day it was featured on their “Explore” page. http://www.flickr.com/photos/pottengermn/8419996589/in/explore-2013-01-27

More Phlearn's free courses trump most of the paid options that are out there and the PRO ones absolutely destroy them. Phlearn is the only place where I've seen practical solutions and examples to the problems that photographers face on a daily basis.

Aaron's presentation of both photography and Photoshop techniques is clear, concise and enjoyable. The value you get from the texture packs and PRO courses is fantastic and they immediately take your finished products to a whole new level.

I love my weekly dose of Phlearn and look forward to the ambitious projects in upcoming PRO tutorials. Keep up the great work Aaron!

More There's not much more to say about Phlearn and the work of Aaron Nace that hasn't already been said, but it bares meaning every time someone spouts a similar story. Phlearn has been invaluable to my development as a photographer. Whether it be learning new techniques, understanding pitfalls and avoiding cliches/ common mistakes, learning important business practice or just taking the time to humble ones self to the creative brilliance this site is always oozing.

The Pro Tutorials are just too good to comprehend sometimes. Being given so much for so little is a rare encounter these days, but it exists here, at Phlearn. The tutorials provide stunning depth and tutelage for amazing images at very affordable prices. Money aside though, the thing I enjoy most about these videos is the way Aaron walks through an image, recognizing which bits may need to be explained multiple times and never ignoring the fact he has made these video to TEACH. He is not, like so many other tutorial sites, just showing you how he made an image and leaving up to you to figure out the details.

I could speak for hours on just how brilliant this site is, but I won't because the site is more than capable to show you for itself. A unique website that accommodates to all skill levels, whether you watch a video a day, or return when you need help, you can get something from Phlearn immediately.

More I first came across Aaron before Phlearn, when he was teaching "Learn Photoshop Live," and I can absolutely say that my development as a photographer would have been considerably slower if I hadn't found him.

I was studying photography at art school and our Photoshop teachers were just TERRIBLE. I learned more in one of Aaron's classes than I did all year at college and for just a fraction of the price! And I didn't just learn to copy other images. I learned solid techniques that I could use and adapt to create the images I had been dying to create but just didn't know how.

It was great to see some of the Learn Photoshop Live lessons being recreated as Phlearn PRO tutorials, making them even more accessible and affordable. They are phenomenal value for money and I'm always astounded by what I learn.

More The first thing i do when i get home from work is to visit the Phlearn website for news. At first i went through all the free episodes but i ran out of news really fast. I took a step further and bought a Phlearn PRO and I think that they are the best tutorial videos I have seen. And I watch a lot of videos.

Aaron is a great teacher with the biggest enthusiasm. Sometimes I think it is his personality that inspires me more than photoshop itself. Exactly the way a teacher is supposed to work.

Thank you Phlearn for your existence. /Emil from Sweden

More I am from Mexico, i found out about Phlearn watching the [Framed] show staring Aaron Nace. What attracted me to the site was the creativity he injects in his projects. Actually, i was looking for something like that, a way to create cool ideas and translate them to a story through photography, and that's what i feel Aaron does with his work.

Also, i was looking for a tutorial on how to enhance skin dodge and burning, so i decided to buy the tutorial here. I found it very useful because it encourage you to use your hands to paing... almost literaly, paint with a tablet. So, so far, Phlearn is a site that i stop bye every day.

Keep the good work!!!

More The internet is a wonderful thing. Without it, it would have been difficult for me to learn everything that I have.

Aaron has created an amazing resource for people to learn Photoshop. It's a new world, and Phlearn is leading the way in teaching the next generation of image makers. Never stop learning!

More I have a lot of PRO tutorials, and they are all fantastic. The basic phlearn is great, but in the PRO tutorials Aaron goes much more in depth. In addition, in the PRO tutorials you can understand how to create a quality photo from the beginning to the end, and this allows also to understand the creative concept that there is behind all.

Some great skills in photoshop are explained and can be therefore applied to your shots. In one year, thanks to basic phlearn, but much more thanks to the PRO tutorials I bought, I reached a level in photoshop which I would have never thought I would have reached. :)

More I am quite new to the Phlearn Phamily (only about 2 weeks), but since I found Phlearn I haven't stopped. I've watched ever episode from the most current going back MONTHS and am still going. The wealth of knowledge within the free content has already lead me to purchases a couple Pro content just within the last week. The transparency of Phlearn coupled by the opportunity to free involved really does give this website/service a community feel.

Thanks for everything that the entire Phlearn team does and I'm happy to be a part of the Phamily.

More As far as photoshop is concerned I'm very much in the early stages, but the way Aaron teaches even an old non-techie beginner like myself can follow along with plenty to learn in a very understandable way no matter how much, or little, they know.

Someday maybe I'll actually get decent at this stuff, but for now at least I found a place where I can find plenty to keep me going without feeling overwhelmed or intimidated... Proud to be part of the Phamily!!!
