Learn From Start to Finish
Color and Light
Sometimes your images won’t come out perfectly exposed, once that was a problem, but not anymore. In the original photo the couple was a little underexposed, drawing less attention to them. The bride had too much red in her face and too much blue on her shoulders. You will learn how to solve exposure and color problems for any image.
Create Bokeh
Don’t worry, you don’t have to paint it in with the brush tool, we provide textures for you to simply copy and paste. Bokeh provides a great out of focus look to your image, simulating a more shallow DOF. You can also use this technique to hide blemishes or distracting elements.
Light Glow
Nothing says romantic image like light rays coming in through the trees, and bright glowing skies. In this tutorial you will learn how to simulate light rays, as well as make light look like it is glowing around your subjects.

I went to university for photography, and while I loved it there and learned a lot, what I learned in the photoshop end came no where close to what Aaron's tutorials have taught me.
I have purchased more than half of the tutorials and have more often than not, came out with a whole bunch of new tips and techniques that I wasn't aware of or familiar with. I find myself saying out loud "holy crap that's so awesome" or "oh my god I wish I knew about Phlearn years ago" and other things of the like many times throughout the videos.
Aaron makes the tutorials even more entertaining by being silly and fun! I've had numerous laugh out loud moments. I highly recommend purchasing any and all of the tutorials!

Thanks for putting out some of the most accessible, interesting, and informative tutorials on the web. I am simply in awe of your Photoshop knowledge and techniques. I've been a working landscape photographer since 2008 and I thought I knew my way around the program. How wrong I was! In every Phlearn tutorial I've watched I've learned one, or two, or ten new things about Photoshop. But I'm not just talking about tips, tricks, and shortcuts. Your techniques are fantastic as well. I had no idea you could accomplish so much with the simple brush tool.
But of course, technical Photoshop knowledge alone doesn't create great images. I've really gotten a lot out of hearing your theories and ideas on color and light matching for composites. It makes all the difference in the world. I can honestly say that even though I've only watched a handful of Phlearn tutes so far my portrait images are light years ahead of where they were only a few months ago.

There's not much more to say about Phlearn and the work of Aaron Nace that hasn't already been said, but it bares meaning every time someone spouts a similar story. Phlearn has been invaluable to my development as a photographer. Whether it be learning new techniques, understanding pitfalls and avoiding cliches/ common mistakes, learning important business practice or just taking the time to humble ones self to the creative brilliance this site is always oozing.
The Pro Tutorials are just too good to comprehend sometimes. Being given so much for so little is a rare encounter these days, but it exists here, at Phlearn. The tutorials provide stunning depth and tutelage for amazing images at very affordable prices. Money aside though, the thing I enjoy most about these videos is the way Aaron walks through an image, recognizing which bits may need to be explained multiple times and never ignoring the fact he has made these video to TEACH. He is not, like so many other tutorial sites, just showing you how he made an image and leaving up to you to figure out the details.
I could speak for hours on just how brilliant this site is, but I won't because the site is more than capable to show you for itself. A unique website that accommodates to all skill levels, whether you watch a video a day, or return when you need help, you can get something from Phlearn immediately.

I am currently a graduate student in Art and Design and Phlearn is my number one resource for Photoshop and Photography tutorials. When comparing Phlearn to other training sites, the first thing which stands out is Aaron's passion for the subject matter and teaching it to others. When I was in Chicago I stopped by to check out their studio. The staff at Phlearn couldn't have been nicer to take the time out of their schedule to give me a tour and talk to me.
The tutorials are much more than the technical way to create an image. They help you think about ways to solve and make your own photos. Where other sites teach about the tools. Aaron teaches how to use them in a successful manner. I've been a photographer for a long time and have been using Photoshop since its first incarnation. I thought I pretty much had it covered. Turns out, not so much. I'm pretty new to the site but I have learned so much from watching Aaron's free videos that it was a simple decision to purchase the PRO tutorials and I'm so glad I did. The quality of the production and level of content is awesome; in depth but clearly explained.
Aaron has such an easy, natural way of presenting information that you can't help but feel you're being personally tutored by someone who really knows and loves his craft.
Save your money on books, stop looking at 10 minute blurry Youtube clips and spend some time with PRO. You'll learn more from one PRO tutorial than you will from most books out there combined. Where can you possibly get between 2-3 hours of professional tutoring per video that you can refer to over and over again for under $25 (even cheaper when he has a sale)? 'Nuff said.

Muchas veces pasaba por mi mente el deseo de encontrar una página en la que pudiera encontrar tutoriales distintos, fáciles pero de gran ayuda... necesitaba que alguien me dijera: "Abre photoshop sin miedo, eres capaz de crear todo eso que imaginas" y entonces encontré Phlearn, el lugar que brinda todo tipo de conocimientos sin ninguna restricción, un libro abierto con todos los tips necesarios para crecer en el arte digital junto con miles de personas más.
He seguido a Phlearn desde entonces y debo admitir que gracias a los tutoriales he mejorado no sólo mis habilidades en photoshop sino que también he ampliado mis conocimientos como fotógrafa. Aaron hace cada tutorial algo interesante y algo personal, puedes sentir que te está hablando a ti, que realmente estás ahí en vivo aprendiendo paso a paso con él sin importar de qué país vengas o en qué lugar estés siempre y cuando tengas las ganas de materializar lo que imaginas en fotografías.

Phlearn Pro Tutorials are better than ice cream. I've been using Photoshop professionally for 15 years. Of all the sources of information on Photography and Photoshop I like Phlearn the best. Why? While most tutorials teach "How" to do things, Phlearn Pro tutorials teach "How" and "Why".
Now that Aaron is including concept, preproduction, and photo shoot knowledge into the tutorials you get more than a simple trick you can do. It's more like learning along side a photographer and peeking into their mind.
